A great event took place last Sunday with the Oakland Running Festival. Nearly  10,000 participants participated in either a  marathon, half-marathon or  5k. as sports enthusiasts  raced thru  the diverse and lovely Oakland neighborhoods, spectators  clapped and cheered them  along.  It was a very  upbeat and positive move for the city of Oakland.

The market for 2014 is starting off with a bang. This lovely home located in Upper Lincoln Heights just closed escrow-sold significantly over the asking price with multiple offers--on to the next. 

The buzz in the market place is that housing prices will do slightly better in 2014, with prices increasing by 10-15%. With a dramatic increase in demand, inventory will still be at a premium. Interest rates are predicted to increase this year, closer to 6 percent. On the tech front, we are meeting very savy clients in the world of technology and iPads are now a requirement instead of a fun toy.
