Montclair Swim Club - 1901 Woodhaven Way, Oakland This private swim club in the Oakland hills, just minutes from Montclair Village, is a wonderful retreat. In 1927, the Forest pool was constructed to attract people to buy hillside lots. Fed by the surrounded hillside streams, the water in the pool was very cold. Eventually upgrades were made and today you will find great facilities including a large lap pool, two childrens’ pools, a hot tub and a fully  equipped  gym.  It’s a great family spot for parties - I have hosted three birthday parties for my young nephew and everyone has a wonderful time. 

This is a perfect escape without going to Italy. The Gondola Servizio at Lake Merritt offers authentic gondola tours complete with an opera singing oarsman. The gondola holds  up to 6 people and you can bring your own beverages and snacks. It truly is a magical experience!
