Sheila Sabine - Blue Bottle

Image
Coming home to Blue Bottle is always a comforting feeling. While visiting family in Brooklyn , I made my first stop of the day always at Blue Bottle coffee shop located in the Boerum Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn on Dean near Smith. It is the most adorable and smallest of the coffee shops weighing in at a mere 266 ft.² The staff there says "maybe it's our size, we feel especially close to everyone who comes in." It is A great comparison to our Oakland shop on Broadway in the old Morse building – which is the largest of all the coffee shops on the West Coast. I guess size doesn't really matter – it's always about the quality.

West Coast & East Coast House Tours

Last week I attended  the West Coast San Francisco Designer Showcase and this week I attended the East Coast House Tour in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn . In a 50 year span, Boerum Hill has gone from a little known neighborhood to a brownstone hot spot.  With prices in Manhattan skyrocketing, Brooklyn has been the logical next step for many young families. The tour included very old homes preserving the antique look to very  modern residences. Also a community park was featured as well as a public school with its eco-friendly playground complete with organic vegetable gardens and green turf grass. It is easy to see why Oakland is being called the new Brooklyn with its burst of restaurants, art, and rising home prices.  Visit GlassSabine.com Contact Team Glass Sabine at ssabine @grubbco.com
