What's new in Rockridge?


Cole Hardware comes to Rocrkidge - This San Francisco based store has been welcomed with open arms by the Rockridge community. The new store is well organized and the staff is friendly. In addition to having a wide selection of the hardware and tools, they carry live plants, children's toys, and storage bins for rent. Stop in for a quick look-you will  be pleasantly surprised-oh did I mention you can also pick up a pair of reading glasses?

Rotary Peace Grove at Tilden Park

High atop the hills of Tilden Park sits a serene sanctuary known as the Rotary Peace Grove. This section of the park was donated to Berkeley Rotary in 1955 when they began planting redwood trees. Each year, a different tree is dedicated to a leader in world peace and bronze plaques are displayed with the honorees' names at the base of each tree. The members of the Rotary club prune and  clean up regularly to help preserve the magic and the beauty. The hike to the grove makes a wonderful outing for the entire family.
