My East Bay: Oakland's Montclair

This year, I've started a new video series that explores the various East Bay neighborhoods through my very subjective lens! Having lived here and sold so many properties over the years, I have developed an intimate knowledge of the diverse areas on this side of the bridge. 


Montclair, located in the Oakland hills, is full of hidden gems! So let me take you on a private tour of my home neighborhood.

Rotary Peace Grove at Tilden Park

High atop the hills of Tilden Park sits a serene sanctuary known as the Rotary Peace Grove. This section of the park was donated to Berkeley Rotary in 1955 when they began planting redwood trees. Each year, a different tree is dedicated to a leader in world peace and bronze plaques are displayed with the honorees' names at the base of each tree. The members of the Rotary club prune and  clean up regularly to help preserve the magic and the beauty. The hike to the grove makes a wonderful outing for the entire family.
