My East Bay: Piedmont, California

Nestled in the foothills of the larger Oakland, it has gained the nicknamed "the city of Millionaires". With only 11,000 residents, it is famous for its mansions with well-manicured lawns.



I love taking a stroll in Piedmont Park with my grandkids, drive around and see the beautiful mansions, and walk my dog in one of the nicest dog park of the East Bay!

Rotary Peace Grove at Tilden Park

High atop the hills of Tilden Park sits a serene sanctuary known as the Rotary Peace Grove. This section of the park was donated to Berkeley Rotary in 1955 when they began planting redwood trees. Each year, a different tree is dedicated to a leader in world peace and bronze plaques are displayed with the honorees' names at the base of each tree. The members of the Rotary club prune and  clean up regularly to help preserve the magic and the beauty. The hike to the grove makes a wonderful outing for the entire family.
