 Restaurant pick of of the week - Acre Kitchen & Bar at Market Hall

After months of remodeling the popular Oliveto’s, this great new restaurant has just re-opened with a casual cafe on the street level and fine dining on the upper level. The food reflects the love and passion that Chefs Dirk Tolsma and Pete Sittnick have for cooking with an emphasis on Mediterranean/California cuisine. @acre.restaurant is a place to slow down, relax and enjoy the hospitality of these gracious owners and staff.

High atop the hills of Tilden Park sits a serene sanctuary known as the Rotary Peace Grove. This section of the park was donated to Berkeley Rotary in 1955 when they began planting redwood trees. Each year, a different tree is dedicated to a leader in world peace and bronze plaques are displayed with the honorees' names at the base of each tree. The members of the Rotary club prune and  clean up regularly to help preserve the magic and the beauty. The hike to the grove makes a wonderful outing for the entire family.
